E-commerce is growing exponentially. This, in turn, is triggering changes in e-shopping habits and paving the way for more efficient deliveries. Correspondingly, continuously investing in a better customer experience, the Pigu Group has introduced a new delivery option in Lithuania (pigu.lt) and Estonia (kaup24.ee).
Faster than picking up yourself
According to Ernestas Kacerauskas, Head of Marketing at the Pigu Group, currently, free in-store pick-up by customers themselves is the preferred way of collecting goods ordered online. This option is also actively followed by pick-ups from post offices and self-service terminals.
The partnership between pigu.lt / kaup24.ee and ZITICITY, therefore, has been prompted by the emerging global trends and a notable change in the needs of local online shoppers. Kacerauskas highlights that the residents of bigger cities, in particular, are looking for ways to plan their time more effectively; thus, speedy deliveries are gaining reasonable popularity.
“We believe that the flexibility of couriers’ work schedule and the speed of delivery offered by ZITICITY would adjust not only the statistics of our delivery methods but also shape the habits of buyers. We hope that the residents of large cities will appreciate this innovation. Same-day deliveries will enable them to save more time and receive small parcels directly at the most convenient time and place,” Kacerauskas comments.
Laimonas Noreika, CEO and co-founder of ZITICITY, explains that ZITICITY operates on a basis similar to a well-known Amazon Prime feature. If you choose Amazon Prime, your order is delivered the same day. The same service ZITICITY offers in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Tallinn (Estonia). It partners with various businesses; whereas, the most significant demand is created by e-commerce.
“At present, almost 3,000 companies are connected to our platform. Each day this number is growing along with a scale of e-commerce and the need for instant delivery options. Same-day delivery is becoming the new standard in e-tailing. Such innovative and user-oriented solutions contribute to better sales activity, improved customers’ retention and shopping experience. The Pigu Group is one of the biggest online marketplaces in the region; therefore, it is a great and reasonable strategic step on the way to even more efficient operations,” explains Noreika.
Speedy deliveries - in Estonia and Lithuania
As for now, the integration of ZITICITY services with Pigu Group operations will benefit the buyers in three Lithuanian cities, Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda, and the Estonian capital, Tallinn. The same-day delivery option is available for the majority (approx. 80%) of pigu.lt and kaup24.ee goods.
In Vilnius, couriers do same-day deliveries from 2 pm to 10 pm if the order is placed on the same day until 11:59 am. For those in Kaunas and Klaipeda, same-day delivery option is possible if an order is placed until 10 am. If the goods are ordered at a later hour, the delivery is made the next day in the range of 6 pm to 10 pm. Meanwhile in Tallinn, the goods ordered until 5 pm are delivered by ZITICITY couriers the next day.
Receivers are informed about their delivery by a short SMS message and have an opportunity to track the location of their parcel in real-time.
ZITICITY is a leading same-day delivery provider in the Baltics. Currently, it counts over 9,000 courier applications submitted in Lithuania and nearly 1,500 - in Estonia. Therefore, a broad network of speedy couriers in both countries empowers ZITICITY to provide flexible deliveries at the most convenient time.
The logistics company has noted that usually, the distance between the pick-up and drop-off of points is less than five kilometres. Skipping complicated distribution processes and efficiently optimizing delivery routes, ZITICITY brings goods closer to the end-user. Shorter distances enable the couriers to use different means of transport, including bicycles, scooters or cars, which help to maintain necessary speed and quickly adapt to the city infrastructure.
